Rapid WordPress delivery for the optical industry
An international optical-industry company needed to integrate a new web experience into WordPress and adapt its store-location system to business-specific rules. The deadline was highly compressed, and the assigned delivery team consisted of only two people.
The priority was to deliver on time without reducing the project to a superficial visual integration. In addition to the design, the website required PHP changes and store-locator plugin customization for coupons, location tiers, and distance calculations.
Case overview
| Area | Description |
|---|---|
| Industry | Optical and vision care |
| Platform | WordPress |
| Team | Two people |
| Primary constraint | Compressed deadline |
| Result | Delivery completed on time |
The challenge
The work combined two kinds of complexity that often compete for time:
- Accurately integrating a visual experience into WordPress.
- Modifying functional logic inside an existing store locator.
The original solution used a location plugin. The business rules, however, required more than placing addresses on a map. The experience needed coupon behavior, location classification by tier, and distance calculations between the user and each store.
With a small team and fixed date, any delay in decisions, integration, or QA could compromise the release.
Our approach
Prioritize the critical path
Work was organized around the elements that could block publication: template structure, design integration, store-locator behavior, and business rules.
Nonessential improvements were kept outside the critical path to protect the date.
Divide work without creating silos
The two-person team moved visual integration and functionality forward in parallel while maintaining constant communication about dependencies. Frontend and PHP customization converged early instead of waiting until the end for integration.
Extend an existing foundation
Rather than replacing the entire location system, the existing plugin was modified to meet the client’s requirements. This preserved useful functionality and concentrated effort on the differentiated behavior.
Validate business rules, not only appearance
Review covered coupons, tier classification, location results, and distance calculations. A visually correct page would not have been enough if stores were presented or prioritized incorrectly.

Technology stack
| Area | Technologies |
|---|---|
| CMS | WordPress |
| Backend and customization | PHP |
| Frontend | HTML5, CSS3, SASS, jQuery |
| Location | WordPress Store Locator, geolocation, and distance calculations |
| Delivery | Parallel coordination within a two-person team |
Business value
- Deadline achieved: the website was ready within the required timeframe.
- Brand-aligned experience: the design was integrated into the client’s CMS.
- Differentiated functionality: the locator represented commercial rules not available by default.
- Use of existing investment: a working foundation was extended instead of being rebuilt unnecessarily.
- WordPress administration: the client retained a familiar platform for content and maintenance.
What made rapid delivery possible
Speed did not come from skipping engineering or QA. It came from focused decisions:
- Define the critical path.
- Work in parallel.
- Reuse what the plugin already handled well.
- Customize only where the business was meaningfully different.
- Integrate and validate before the final stage.
Why this story matters
Projects with tight deadlines do not need heroic promises. They need visible scope, priorities, communication, and enough experience to distinguish what must be built from what can be extended.
VesperaMX can work with compact teams and demanding dates when delivery is organized around the product’s real dependencies.
Do you have a WordPress launch with a fixed date?
We can assess the scope, identify the critical path, and define a delivery strategy that protects both the date and the essential functionality.
